Voting Phase

Rules
After the Nomination Phase has been completed, we will provide the nominees for download, and people can vote for which songs they think are best. However, before voting, please listen to EVERY track at least once through (twice or more is recommended). Not doing so defeats the whole purpose of this event, and we WILL question those who appear to have skimmed over some tracks. For good measure, as well as to contribute to the voting discussion, you should talk about the tracks you've listened to, even if you only briefly touch on them.
Voting is to be accomplished in either of two ways:
- The simplest method of voting is simply to list your THREE favorite songs in order of preference, starting with the best one at the top of your list. Please make it easy for us to know that this is in fact a vote and not merely some form of discussion. As the results will ultimately be calculated using a point system, a 1st place vote is worth 3 points, 2nd is worth 2, 3rd is worth 1.
- The more advanced method of voting is done by distributing six points amongst three or more songs, with no individual song receiving more than three points. The point value per song must be a positive integer. If you use this method, PLEASE make it clear for us that you are assigning points to songs by putting "points", "pts.", or some similar notation next to the number of points you are awarding a song (which obviously must be listed directly next to the song you're voting for).
If you wish to change your vote(s), please make a new post to re-state your vote(s), as if it were new. You may also edit your original post and make a new post linking back to your edit. Basically, just make sure we know it has been changed. Also, do not post your vote(s) across multiple forums, as this may lead to us duplicating your vote. However, you are free to post across multiple forums in order to comment on the tracks.
At the end of the Voting Phase (normally Saturday), the song with the most total points will be crowned the "Song of the Week", and the two songs with the 2nd and 3rd highest points will be the two runners-up. If there is a tie for any position, it shall be awarded to the song that has the most bonus points. Bonus points are calculated by taking the number of people who awarded points to a song, and adding half the number of those people who awarded "3 pointers" to the song.

If your nomination won Song of the Week (1st place), you may send me a comment about your song and I will display it on the site. Otherwise, I will (eventually) search the voting thread to find the comment that I feel works the best for that song, and use that (pending the author's permission).
