Gamingforce Returns; Week 119 Finally Concluded
All the data on the server's old hard drive was recovered thanks to pluck and determination, so Week 119 finally has results!
Week 119 Results Postponed Until Gamingforce Returns
Since GFF's hard drive exploded, some votes were very likely not added to the wiki. Therefore, until the data is recovered or all recovery attempts fail, the results of Week 119 will be postponed in an attempt to get those votes counted. Depending on how long it takes, the lack of a winner may affect Battle 15, scheduled to take place after Week 120 voting.
Song of the Week reaches Week 100!
SotW started on September 13, 2004, and after almost three years of voting, has finally reached Week 100. Help celebrate the three-digit milestone by voting on this week's tracks and nominating your own, and here's to another hundred weeks!

SONG OF THE YEAR AT GFF
A best-of-the-best competition between the first 52 Songs of the Week to determine which is the Song of the Year. Check the Song of the Year page for more information, and the GFF Song of the Year forum to vote.
SONG OF THE WEEK LEAVES CHUDAH'S CORNER AND SLIGHTLY DARK
Due to lack of demand at Chudah's Corner and Slightly Dark, Song of the Week will no longer be ran at these forums. However, those wishing to vote will still be able to at Soundtrack Central and Gamingforce.
GAMINGFORCE AND SOTW REUNITE
As of this Monday, Gamingforce Forums will be returning as a partner of Song of the Week.
This will mean that voting and nominating will now take place at four forums:

SONG OF THE WEEK IS BACK!
For those that are not aware, Gamingforce Forums are going to be down for a potentially indefinite amount of time. Details of this can be found at the News Archive
From now on, voting and nominating will take place at three forums:

ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE FUTURE OF SONG OF THE WEEK
As you may well know, Gamingforce Forums have been down since Thursday, 9th Februrary. As you may not know, Gamingforce Forums may be down indefinitely. For details on the GFF situation, check out http://www.geneseo.edu/~rkr4/gf.htm and http://gfw.condign.org/wiki/New_GFF
Bottom Line: Song of the Week is essentially without a home for a potentially long time.
What does this mean for Song of the Week then? The good news is that a lot of the essential content has been recovered. Thanks to Mo0 23:50, 19 January 2006 (GMT), we have a cache of the latest Week 50 nominations thread from Thursday. This can be found at the Temporary Nomination Queue page. All nominations prior to this thread have been recorded, but if you nominated at any time during the Week 50 thread your nomination may not be in the queue. Anyone wishing to nominate can do so by following the details on the Temporary Nomination Queue page.
Sadly, we have not been able to obtain a cache of the Week 49 voting thread. It is likely that we will restart the week, but if you do have a cache of the Week 50 voting thread, it would be much appreicated if we could obtain a copy.
This leaves the prime issue of where we go from here. Potentially we are talking of using the Song of the Week site itself as a temporary home, until GFF returns. Other options are to move to Slightly Dark, OverClocked ReMix, or a combination of the two. We have nothing set in stone, but hopefully a decision will be made in the next few days for our course of action.
No matter what happens, one of our main problems will be retaining members who used to participate in Song of the Week. If there's anyone you know who is a regular at Song of the Week, please inform them of this page, so that they know both that Song of the Week is still going, and how it will still be going.
